Local Partners go Beyond the Build with Back to School Boil

Thank You For Your Contributions.

Greenville, SC — Despite Tuesday’s rain, architecture firm, Batson Associates, teamed up with ARCO Design/Build and Downtown Presbyterian Church to host their inaugural Back-to-School Boil, a community driven event aimed at collecting supplies and raising funds for the faculty and students at Berea Elementary School.

The event welcomed professionals from the region’s Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) community to gather—not just to shape environments, but to build connections. Attendees donated school supplies or made monetary donations in exchange for a hearty serving of a traditional Lowcountry Boil, served up in the Upstate.

And yes, in light of the “Shrimpgate” buzz, the hosts are proud to confirm that the shrimp was sourced from none other than Pawley’s Island, offering guests a taste of South Carolina’s finest.

Thanks to the generosity of the Greenville AEC community, the event collected enough school supplies to fill the tailgate and cab of a Dodge 2500 pickup truck. All donations will directly benefit Berea Elementary, helping students and teachers kick off the school year strong.
